Rorschach, 2019
A subversive figure from the seminal Alan Moore comic book Watchmen - I wanted this piece to capture his intriguing, looming mystery. It’s a ‘topographical’ piece in that I used a gradient in stacks of pieces: each colour/shade used is a different height, creating a stark contrast and rise/fall effect.
This is designed to create folds, in particular around his iconic mask, giving the illusion of movement as you walk around it.
