‘Gerface’, 2018
My first piece using spraypaint on bricks (previously I’d just used Lego branded bricks). I had come to find the colour palette limiting, and wanted a particular shade, so this is the piece that really changed the whole journey for me, in which I developed the first steps in my unique process. The deep green, and 1 shade of of the greys used, were my first ever tentatively spraypainted bricks. I’m very proud of the overall effect, given this is one of my more minimalist pieces in that there are 9 colours used, most of my works now have 100+.
Made for a dear friend, and shown at Reading Brick Show in 2019, where I was invited to exhibit in Reading, the home town of the subject.
